Sculptra Treatments
Sculptra® esthetic is not a filler but a collagen bio stimulator. After age 18 we lose 1% of our collagen per year and by age 40 we have lost approximately 20% of our collagen. Sculptra®, injectable L-poly lactic acid is indicated for use in people with healthy immune systems to correct volume loss and stimulate new collagen production in the face and decollete. It works within the deep dermis, rather than topically to help stimulate collagen production and help restore the skin’s inner structure and volume. As Sculptra ® micro particles are absorbed by the body after treatment, they help stimulate collagen production. Rebuilt collagen strands develop gradually to help restore facial volume and the look of fullness to wrinkles and folds.
It is meant to be given in a series of 2 -3 sessions, 5- 6 weeks apart. Sculptra® can last for up to two years, but some patients opt for an annual touch up. Results appear gradually in the months after it is injected. It is an excellent treatment for women with low volume faces who want a more subtle, revolumized appearance. It is also an appropriate treatment for restoring facial volume in male patients because of the subtle, natural restoration that it gives to the face.
